ArPar Private Browser: frequently asked questions

Short, direct answers about what ArPar does, what it does not do and what it keeps.

What is ArPar Private Browser?

ArPar is a free, private web browser for Android with a built-in ad and tracker blocker. It downloads at about 10 MB, shows no ads of its own, needs no account and keeps your history, bookmarks and tabs on your phone. It is made by YourTechConsultants and was previously called Aegis.

Does ArPar block ads and trackers?

Yes. Blocking is on from the first page, using lists of 149,196 ad and tracker domains that ship inside the app. You can pause blocking for a single site, and the shield icon shows what was stopped on the current page.

Does ArPar block YouTube ads?

No. ArPar does not claim to block ads on YouTube. It blocks ad and tracker requests on ordinary websites.

Is ArPar Private Browser free?

Yes. It is free to download and use, with no subscription, no account and no ads of its own.

How big is ArPar?

About 10 MB on Google Play. It is small because it uses the Android System WebView already on your phone instead of bundling its own web engine.

Does ArPar collect my browsing data?

No. History, bookmarks, tabs and site data are stored on your device and never uploaded to us. The only extra connection is Google's crash reporter, which sends a stack trace and device model if the app crashes. The privacy policy lists every connection the app makes.

Can ArPar remove cookie pop-ups?

On the consent pop-ups it recognises, ArPar chooses reject for you so you do not have to see them. It does not catch every banner on the web.

Does ArPar have a private mode?

Yes. Private mode saves no history and no new cookies, clears the cache when you leave and blocks screenshots while it is open. You can also lock the app with your fingerprint or screen lock.

Is ArPar a VPN?

No. ArPar is a browser. It does not route your traffic through a server of ours or hide your IP address.

Can I import bookmarks from Chrome or Firefox?

Yes. ArPar imports bookmarks from Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Edge and DuckDuckGo, and can export your bookmarks and history back out to files you keep.

Which Android versions does ArPar support?

Android 8.0 and newer.

Which languages does ArPar support?

English, Arabic, German, Spanish, French, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese. ArPar follows your phone's language, and you can set a different one for ArPar alone in Settings.

How do I delete my data?

Open Menu, then Clean up, and choose what to clear. Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored. Details are in the privacy policy.

How do you pronounce ArPar?

"Aar-paar", written आर-पार in Hindi. It means straight through, from one side to the other.

Who makes ArPar?

YourTechConsultants. You can reach us at yourtechconsultants24x7@gmail.com.

What was Aegis Browser?

Aegis was ArPar's earlier name. It is the same app: same package on Google Play, same privacy approach, new name.

Does ArPar have a dark mode?

Yes. ArPar has light and dark themes, per-site themes and Material You colours that follow your phone's palette. In dark mode, sites that have their own dark theme are shown as they designed it.

Can I choose my search engine?

Yes. You can pick your own search engine, use voice search, and paste and go from the address bar.

Does ArPar read articles aloud?

Yes. Read Aloud narrates any article, and reader mode strips a page down to its text.

Can I put the toolbar at the bottom?

Yes. The toolbar can sit at the top or the bottom, and it collapses out of the way as you scroll.

How do I update ArPar?

Google Play updates it automatically. You can also open Settings, then About, and choose Check for updates. ArPar tells you when an update is ready.

Is there an iPhone or desktop version?

No. ArPar is an Android app.
