Privacy Policy
Declare: Card Game · Published by Your Tech Consultants · Last updated: 28 October 2026
The short version. Your offline games, settings and the name you type stay on your device. This version of Declare shows no ads. If you choose the online features (playing with other people, Crowns, the leaderboard, or signing in with Google), our server keeps a small account for you: a random ID, the name and avatar you picked, your Crowns and your online wins. When you sit at an online table, the other players there can also see how many games you have played, how many matches you have won and which achievements you have earned. Unless you switch it off in Settings, Declare also reports anonymous usage statistics (which screens and options are used) so we can improve the game; they contain no name and no account ID, and we use them for nothing else. We never sell anything about you. You can delete your account from inside the app at any time.
Playing offline
When you play against bots, the game itself stays on your device: your settings, your local results, the match in progress and the player name you typed. We do not receive those. Two things leave the device from offline play: the anonymous usage statistics described below (for example, that a practice match was started or finished), which you can switch off in Settings, and three summary figures (games played, matches won and achievements earned, which include your offline games) that the app gives our server when you go online, so that players at your table can see them, as described below. Clear the app's storage or uninstall the app to remove what is on your device.
What our server stores when you use online features
- A random account ID and a random device ID. The app generates them. They are not your phone's hardware ID or advertising ID and do not identify you outside Declare.
- Your display name and avatar, as you chose them. Other players at your table can see them, along with your Nobility rank.
- Your Crowns balance and a ledger of changes to it, such as the starting grant and entry fees for online rounds. Crowns are a virtual item with no cash value.
- Your online win count, shown on the public leaderboard together with your display name and avatar.
- Your games played, matches won and achievements, as your app reports them when you go online and after each match. They include games you played offline. They are kept in the server’s memory only, are not written to our database and are forgotten when the server restarts (your app reports them again the next time you connect). They are shown to the other players at your table when they tap your seat.
- Your phone’s time zone, as a number of hours from UTC, so that the daily Puck Drop resets at your own midnight. It is kept in memory only. If an app does not send it, we may use the country of the connection to choose a time zone, which is not stored either.
- A backup of your profile and stats, if you secure your account with Google: your display name, avatar and lifetime play statistics (such as matches played and won, best round and titles earned), so they can be restored when you sign in on another phone. Guest accounts are not backed up.
- Your friend code and your friends, if you use Friends: a short public code that lets other players send you a request (it is not your account ID), the last name and avatar you used, and your lists: friends, pending requests, players you have blocked, and the last 30 players you shared a table with (“recently played with”).
- Invites and invite rewards, if you share or open an invite link: a random invite code that stands for your account in the links you share (it is not your account ID or your name) and, if you were invited, which account invited you and whether the invite reward has been paid. If you install Declare from a friend’s link, Google Play tells the app the table code and invite code from that link, once, on the first launch. The page a table link opens, when the app is not installed, shows the host’s display name and the table code to whoever has the link. Your invite code and who invited whom are deleted with your account.
- Whether you are online: your friends can see when you are online, when you are in a match, and, if you are waiting at a table with a free seat, they can join it. You can switch this off in Friends, and then you always look offline.
- Reports: if you report a player, or a player reports you, we keep the report (who, the name shown at the time, the reason and the table) for up to 180 days so that a person can review it.
- Match data needed to run a game: the room, who sat where, the moves played and emotes. Matches that were not finished are kept for up to 24 hours after they stop being live, so that you can resume; finished matches are kept for up to 7 days, then removed.
- If you sign in with Google (optional): Google's unique identifier for your account and the email address of that account. Google shares basic profile details as part of signing in, but we keep only the identifier and the email address. We never see your Google password.
- If you turn on “Google Play Games” restore (optional, Android only): we keep a note that your account switched it on, and we store an anonymous code with Google Play Games so that it can recognise you on a new phone. The code is made from your account ID by a one-way step and is not your name, email or Play Games profile, and Google does not receive your name or account ID. We never receive your Google Play Games profile or player ID. You can switch it off any time, in Declare (Settings, then Account) or in Play Games settings.
- Technical logs. Like most servers, ours may record connection details such as your IP address and the time of a request, to keep the service secure and to fix problems. They are kept for a limited time and are not used for advertising or profiling.
- A short record of connections. So that we can see how the service is running, spot abuse and fix problems, our server keeps a record of when each account connected and left, the country the connection came from (not your IP address), which app or browser it was, and the tables it joined or left and any match it won. It holds your random account ID and the display name you had at the time. We keep it for up to 30 days.
Ads
This version of Declare shows no ads and does not use your advertising ID. The app still contains Google’s AdMob software, but it is switched off: it is not started and sends nothing. If we add ads in a future version, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before the first ad is shown.
Anonymous usage statistics
So that we can see what is confusing or loved and decide what to build next, Declare reports how it is used, unless you switch Share anonymous usage off in Settings.
- What is reported: which screens you open, that a match was started or finished (offline, with friends or with other players), how long it lasted, how many players and which bot difficulty, whether a declare was good and the hand total it was made on, which online actions worked or failed, which settings you change, whether you shared the game, whether you opened the Puck Drop, that your Crowns ran low, how you first reached the app (the store, a friend’s invite link or a tagged link), whether you are signed in with Google (yes or no, never which account), your Nobility Rank, and the error codes you saw or that the app hit (for example, a screen that failed to draw). It is chosen from a fixed list, so it never contains anything you typed.
- What is not reported: your name, avatar, messages, friend code, room codes, account ID, device ID, advertising ID, IP address or location. The reports are grouped only by a random number that the app makes for this purpose; it is not your account ID or your device ID.
- Offline play counts too: reports wait on your phone and are sent when it is next online.
- Who sees it: only us, on our own server. We do not use it for advertising or profiling and do not share it with anyone.
- How long: up to 180 days. Switching the setting off stops reporting at once, clears what is waiting on your phone and deletes what we hold for your phone.
What we do not collect
- No contacts, photos, files, microphone, camera or location.
- No advertising identifier.
- No third-party analytics or crash-reporting services. The anonymous usage statistics described above go only to our own server.
- No real-money play, betting or purchases. Declare does not currently sell anything. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated first.
How we use it
Only to run the game: to seat you at a table, keep your Crowns and rank, show the leaderboard, back up and restore your progress, let you find and play with friends, keep your blocks, review reports of misbehaviour, let you get back into your account on a new phone, prevent abuse, understand how the app is used so that we can improve it, and answer support requests. We do not make decisions about you by automated profiling.
Who can see it
- Other players see your display name, avatar and rank when you play online, and the leaderboard shows your name, avatar and wins. A player at your table who taps your seat also sees your games played, matches won and achievements.
- Players at your table can see your friend code, so they can add, block or report you. A player you block is not told, does not see your emotes, and is not seated at the same public table as you.
- Only your friends see whether you are online or waiting at a table, unless you switch that off.
- If you choose to sign in with Google, Google handles that sign-in under its own privacy policy.
- If you turn on Google Play Games restore, Google Play Games holds the anonymous recognition code described above, under Google’s own privacy policy. Nobody else, including other players, can see it.
- Companies that run our servers do so on our behalf, only to provide the service.
- We may disclose information if the law requires it.
- We do not sell or rent your information.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
- Your account and its data are kept while the account exists.
- Player reports are deleted after 180 days.
- The record of connections is deleted after 30 days. Anonymous usage statistics are deleted after 180 days, or at once if you switch them off.
- A guest account that was never secured with Google and has not connected for 365 days is deleted automatically.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings, then Account, then Delete my account), or without the app by following the steps on our delete-account page.
- Deleting erases your account, Crowns and ledger, profile and stats backup, friend code and friends, requests, blocks and recent players, leaderboard entry, Google sign-in link and Google Play Games restore link from our servers (we also ask Google Play Games to remove its recognition code for you), and you disappear from other players’ friend lists. Reports about you are erased; reports you made are kept for review without any link to your account. Records of recent matches expire on the schedule above. Results stored on your own device are not touched; clear the app's storage to remove them.
Android permissions
The app uses the Internet permission to play online, to sign in and to send anonymous usage statistics, and the vibration permission for optional haptic feedback, which you can turn off in Settings. Google's sign-in library also declares some device sign-in permissions (such as biometric and credential access). Declare does not use them to collect any biometric or credential data.
Children
Declare is a general-audience card game for people aged 16 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live you may have rights such as access to, correction of, or deletion of your data. To use them, email us from the address below and include your Player ID (shown in Settings, then Account). We may reply to confirm it is you before acting.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for any material change we will tell players in the app.
